A Tribute to the Beach Ride Committee
Freedom is the common denominator for all bikers.
Freedom to ride and enjoy the open air, to have access to all that
nature and the world have to offer. The love of freedom has no
boundaries in the biker world.

This select group of bikers has chosen to give their
considerable skills and tireless energy to build the Beach Ride, one of
the largest and most successful biker events in the world. Their
powerful commitment to excellence is indeed just a part of a broad
spectrum of their community involvement.
The freedom to which they ascribe, and work to hold
onto, has now become a reality for a group of citizens commonly referred
to as developmentally disabled or mentally retarded. Within recent
memory, many of these people were confined to State hospitals or
shielded away from public view.
With their efforts and the efforts of others, freedom
for the developmentally disabled is no longer a dream. The
possibilities of education, recreation, work training, community
employment, and independence are now available through Exceptional
Children's Foundation and other non-profit organizations. The
Committee's fund raising activities and support are vital and most
deeply appreciated.
